Weekly Updates at SCB
Many updates this week...
are able to resume, though under some new guidelines in according with the CDC and diocese:
all members are to either wear a mask OR maintain 6-feet separation during the entire meeting
all must sanitize their hands upon entering room (provided)
all surfaces touched must be wiped down with the provided disinfectant (tables, chairs, doorknobs, etc.)
there should not be any personal belongings left in the meeting rooms
if you are ill, feverish, or have flulike symptoms, please remain home for the safety of others
Please check in with your group leader or the parish office to confirm the return of your ministry.
We appreciate you following these guidelines as a way of personal responsibility in protecting others from contracting illness. Many blessings in your ministries as you work to further the Kingdom of God!
Please drop off new highlighters in the parish office or over at the church. Thank you for your generousity!
Parable of the Sower
Sunday's gospel reading is the Parable of the Sower. It gives us a means to reflect on where we are with our walk with Jesus. Do we come to church, hear the Word and let it sink deep in our heart where we in turn live it and are fruitful (fruitful heart)? Do we instead hear the word, leave, and promptly forget it (shallow heart)? Do we hear the word and rejoice but days later let the worries and activities of the world cause us to forget it (crowded heart)? Do we hear the Word but never really believe it (hard heart)?
Take some time this week to consider where you are with your walk with God.
Folks will be meeting to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet on Friday at 3pm in the church. Please join if you are able!
Rita Cook’s Retirement Party
We are extremely grateful to Rita Cook, who has served as our Director of Religious Education since August 2013. She has gone above and beyond throughout these past 7 years, and she will have completed 19 years of service to our parish community as teacher and former school principal, too.
Please join us on Saturday, July 18th (after 5:00 pm Mass) as we gather in the gym to celebrate with her!
No gifts, please, but a card with a memory or a spiritual bouquet would be cherished!
